About Malabong Mountain (Manabon Mountain)

Malabang Mountain in Tai'an Township, Miaoli, is one of Taiwan's small mountains and the sacred mountain of the local Atayal people. "Malabang" even means magnificent mountain in the Atayal language. 1. Drive by yourself:

Climbing route

There are three entrances for climbing Malabang Mountain, one is "Zhuhu Mountain Pass", the other is "Shanghu Mountain Pass" and "Natural Lake Mountain Pass". This time we took the route directly from Zhuhu Mountain Pass The upper triangle point is also the relatively easy one among the three routes.

 

There are parking lots and public toilets at the mountain entrance of Zhuhu Lake, but the number of parking lots is not large. There are about 10 vehicles. If you don’t want to go too far, you must come early. Because this is a private land, a 100 yuan parking fee will be charged (50 for locomotives). yuan). There is a simple observation deck above the parking lot, but the scenery is not simple at all.

 

There is an industrial road behind the observatory, which is the entrance to Malabang Mountain. Climbing upwards along the industrial road, from the dark and humid dirt road in the shade of the trees to the stone steps that can be irradiated by the sun. It is not difficult. Just pay attention to the steps and walk slowly, but if it rains, it should be quite slippery. , It is recommended to wear better grip and safer with trekking poles.

 

After passing through the narrow section, you will arrive at the Gongliao. This is a very clear indicator. If you are tired, you can take a rest here to replenish energy, because there will be a steep staircase behind, and you can let the scenery in front of you while resting. Go on and enter the steep bamboo forest area, mostly artificial trails and dirt roads.
