What You Can Expect

►Maolin Scenic Spot 

There’re abundant natural resources here. Maolin's Purple Crow Butterflies and Monarch butterfly valley in Mexico are the largest “migration butterflies valley”. From December to February in the winter each year, millions of purple crow butterflies migrate to the valley, becoming a surprising scene here.

►Dona tribal village

It’s located at the western swamp of the central range, in the altitude of 450 meters and is the deepest village in Maolin district. Because of the excellent geography condition, it has attacted millions of Rukai people settling down here and is the most ancien indigenous village. You could still see the stone-board house and the pattern of chinese sharp-nosed viper and lily, representing their worship for the nature.
 

►Fo Guang Shan

It’s a temple contructed by the apprentices of “master Hsiangyun”. The temple architecture is magnificent and the atmosphere of buddhism is serious. The big sculpture of Buddha is the most attractive landmark which mesures 120 meters tall and is made with gold. Around it, there’re 480 golden sculptures.

►Lotus Pond

It’s famous for a big amout of lotus aroud the pond and was one of the 8 most beautiful landscape in Fengshan in the period of qing dynasty. It’s now famous for the picture of sunset. The most famous landmark is the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas which has 7 floors. Tourists could enter from the mouth of dragon and exit from the mouth of tiger, which wishes them a fortune.
